ZOW 2012: Facts & Figures
Bad Salzuflen boasts more than 670 exhibitors
671 exhibitors from 33 countries will showcase their products at the 18th ZOW, supplier fair for the furniture industry and interior design, taking place at the trade fair centre Bad Salzuflen from 6-9 February 2012. 46 % of all exhibitors are internationals, 54 % domestic. Exhibitors from East Westphalia-Lippe will be most strongly represented among the German exhibitors. ZOW is going to cover roughly 33,000 square metres in exhibition halls 19, 20, 21, 22.1/22.2 and 23.2. Event organiser Clarion Events Deutschland GmbH (Bielefeld) expects roughly 18, 000 visitors, one third of whom will be visiting from other countries.
ZOW is traditionally rooted in the supplier stronghold East Westphalia-Lippe: More than one third of the 359 German exhibiting companies is based in the furniture cluster East Westphalia-Lippe. Up to 20% of all ZOW exhibitors will be from this area.
However, as an innovation platform for the supplier industry, ZOW is also attractive beyond the borders of the region. This is proven by the large percentage of international exhibitors, who operate on the important markets– from Europe to Asia and the US. As in previous years, Italian companies account for a largest percentage of the international ZOW participants: They represent one quarter of the international exhibitors. Exhibitors from Poland, China and Austria follow considerably further behind, while the Spanish suppliers take fifth place. However, exhibitors from Scandinavia, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxemburg will also be strongly represented at ZOW.
The addition of halls 19 and 23.2 in 2012 allows ZOW to provide its visitors with a great variety of products and a large presentation space. In hall 19, the focus will be on fitting systems, while accessories will predominately be presented in halls 20 and 21. Surfaces and wooden materials can be found in halls 22 and 23.2. Another highlight will be the specific topics at ZOW 2012: In hall 22.1, the igeL forum is going to showcase new developments in lightweight furniture construction. In hall 22.1, one can find international exhibitors focusing on furniture fabrics with the motto “fabrics by ZOW“. In hall 23.2, the large joint exhibition “RFID Factory“ will take place on roughly 170 square metres, presenting new radio technology solutions along the value chain of the furniture industry.
