Fairground Expansion:
ZOW at the expanded Fairgrounds in Bad Salzuflen for the first Time in 2006
Construction work at the Bad Salzuflen fairgrounds is proceeding on
schedule. In parallel with the progress that the workers are making on
the new Halls 22/23, planning for ZOW 2006 is also well under way. The
East-Westphalian Fair for Suppliers to the Furniture and Interior
Fitting Industry, which will be held on February 20th - 23rd, will be
the first large-scale event to benefit from the infrastructure
improvements at the B239 highway. Organizer Survey Marketing +
Consulting (Bielefeld) is taking advantage of the expansion and
modernization project at the site to upgrade its ZOW show concept. A
reorganization of the layout will make things easier for exhibitors and
visitors, especially on peak days.
Additional Space for the Industry Get-Together
Survey CEO Peter H. Meyer explained that there was an urgent need for the expansion work: "Things got pretty congested in some areas in the old ZOW halls at peak times, and the catering capacity had reached its limits. An increase in the number of exhibitors and higher staffing levels exacerbated the situation. We are constructing Hall 22 to add an additional 9,000 m² for ZOW 2006. This will finally give us more breathing space, and we will even be able to bring some additional companies on board. The improved infrastructure substantially enhances the attractiveness of ZOW as a place where suppliers to the furniture industry can get together. The new layout will also offer other forums such as Focus Küche & Bad (kitchen and bath show) the opportunity to stage a concentrated presentation."
Generous Facilities - relaxed Atmosphere
The new, two-storey building containing Halls 22/23 is located between the B239 highway and the existing Halls 20 and 21. The modern infrastructure of the complex includes four passenger elevators, three freight elevators, an escalator serving all levels, a restaurant with seating for 340 persons and a multi-purpose auditorium with room for about 280 seats. Hundreds of new parking spaces are under construction in close proximity to alleviate the traffic and transportation situation. The visitors' shuttle busses to ZOW will stop at the entrance to Halls 19 and 22 starting in 2006.
The new ZOW layout will feature large aisles. Many stands will extent over a greater length along the aisles, but they will have less depth. Other general purpose areas such as foyers, forums and restaurants will have more space in the future. A linear layout will replace the star-shaped configuration in Halls 19 and 21. Most of the exhibitors in Hall 19 will move to Halls 21 and 22, which are connected. The functional fittings group will be concentrated in Hall 19.
Semi-finished goods, lighting and glass elements will be located in Hall 20. The 40 product groups offered by the exhibitors will reflect the entire spectrum of the supplier industry. ZOW will be held for the 12th time in 2006, and 600 exhibitors are expected to be at the event (compared to 556 last year).
Attractions for Exibitors and Vsitors
The "Innovations Scouting" selection will be held for the fourth time in succession at ZOW 2006 to identify the top new products from the supplier industry. More than 70 exhibitors submitted entries last year for the selection of the top ten innovations. Manufacturers can already register for the event. The jury made up of experts from production and fabrication companies is once again looking forward to reviewing creative solutions at this year's "Innovation Scouting" competition.
Architect's Day on the last day of the show will be a new highlight. Interested exhibitors will have the opportunity to present their know-how and product range directly to planners and decision makers for evaluation.
Professional planners are also an important target group at E3S, the European Solid Surface Show & Engineered Stone Exhibition. This industry event for innovative solid surface and engineered stone materials is unique in Europe, and for the first time it will be held as an exclusive, special international show under the ZOW umbrella. The show will take place on level 2 in Hall 22. Inclusion of this event at ZOW will provide an interesting enrichment to the show content, and it will also broaden the range of visitors at the event.
