ZOW 2008 - Top Event for the Furniture Industry - More than 700 exhibitors on Board / All Halls sold out

More than 700 international exhibitors are set to use ZOW 2008 as their official showcase to premiere their latest products for the furniture and interior design industries. All halls are fully booked, with Hall 19 which features “fittings” and Halls 22 and 23 – the traditional venue for decor printers – already sold out in the summer. More visitors are expected in 2008 than ever before, as ZOW will be the only B2B platform in Germany to provide a complete market overview for furniture industry professionals.

ZOW in Bad Salzuflen is the annual event dedicated to the furniture supply industry and is located in the same region as its customer base. Since 1995, the trade platform has stood for the rapid communication of new ideas at just the right time. ZOW has always been highly rated for its broad and in-depth coverage of all furniture industry-related product groups, and in 2008 ZOW will have a very special significance for suppliers and their customers as Germany’s only industry show venue synchronized to the product development cycle in the domestic furniture industry. For the first time, organizer Survey is offering new companies the opportunity to exhibit at Bad Salzuflen in 2008, with financial support provided by the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA).

First-time use of Hall 23.1 in 2008

The huge demand required more space to be available to exhibitors in 2008 than in the previous year, and so for the first time Hall 23.1, the ground floor level of Hall 23, will be used as exhibition space. The entire ZOW area is thus increased to a total of 45,000 m². One advantage is that having an access point from Hall 23.1 into Halls 20-23 creates a complete visitor circuit, thereby shortening routes around the show. The South Entrance immediately next to the new P2 parking lot on the B239 has been redesigned. There will now be direct access from this entrance to Hall 20.

The shuttle bus system and the 1,500 new parking spaces on P2 – of which 250 are reserved for exhibitors – led in 2007 to a significant easing of the traffic and parking situation around ZOW. Therefore in 2008 this system will be retained in its entirety. In 2007, Survey used 70-seater coaches for the first time for the parking lot shuttle service. The coaches had their own access route to the main entrance from Hall 21, enabling participants to arrive and depart without a hitch. Once again in 2008, exhibitors and visitors can look forward to another relaxed show experience at Bad Salzuflen.

Logistics, direct printing and lightweight construction

As well as gaining a compact and comprehensive market overview, exhibitors and visitors to ZOW will also be able to derive a wealth of information and inspiration for their own use from the special events. In Hall 22.2, important sectors such as logistics, lightweight construction and direct printing in the furniture industry will be available and on display, offering application-specific solutions for visitors to transfer to their own practice. Also located in Hall 22.2 is a fascinating program of presentations with experts and users from the logistics and furniture industries held in collaboration with Prof. Nicholas Boone of the Logistics & Distribution Department at the Lippe & Höxter University of Applied Sciences.

The Architecture Lounge in Hall 20 provides a central hub on 200 m² for visitors from the world of architecture, complete with exhibitions, themed tours, specialist presentations and product testing by selected ZOW exhibitors, where participants can win a trip. There was unanimous agreement among last year's ZOW exhibitors that the Architecture Lounge events on offer were attractive, compact, informative and pitched perfectly for the target group. As well as the professional input which is on hand, the “a-lounge” offers both wine, jazz and canapés and a stimulating environment. Our Lounge partners are: the German Interior Architects’ and Designers’ Association (the BDIA), iF International Forum Design, Material Connexion Cologne, Steelcase and the magazine Detail.

Exhibition of award-winning products

After a successful premiere last year, the new prize-winners of the “M Technology Award” will once again introduce their award-winning design ideas at ZOW in Bad Salzuflen in the form of a special exhibition. The competition is open both to exhibitors at ZOW events in Europe and Asia and to non-exhibitors from all over the world. Submissions are accepted from all ZOW product categories: Materials, Chemical Products, Interior Design Supply, Surfaces, Elements & Systems, Fittings, Semi-finished Products, plus industry-related Services and Concepts.

The E3S special event in Hall 22.2 is an international specialist forum introducing new developments in solid surfaces and engineered stone. Nowhere else in Europe is it possible to obtain such a comprehensive overview of the broad range of materials, the latest developments in technology and the vast range of applications available.
